From Russia with Love! – A Russian Wedding in Langhe

We are back in Langhe region after our weddings in Aosta Valley for an intimate yet very special event. Langhe region is one of our favourite destination for a Country wedding in Piemonte.
This time we are pleased to tell you about Alina and Ivan’s wedding day!

Alina and Ivan are a lovely couple coming from Moscow… from Russia to Piemonte – Langhe with lot of love!

They decided to get married here in Spring 2013 and our planning begun only in the beginning of 2013 itself. We had not much time to planning all but the final result was amazing.
You can appreciate it in the pictures here…

We remember meeting them under the snow this past winter. We had a lovely tour on this area to choose the perfect venue for their special day.
Now you can see here what a great spring day they had for their wedding! What a special gift for them!

Alina and Ivan decided to plan their staying, ceremony, reception and party all in the same venue.
A good solution for medium-small groups (from 20 to 30 guests). This way all enjoyed a lovely staying and vacation together without many transfers from and to different venues.

They choose a lovely Country Hotel which was an ancient convent just on top of Langhe hills.
View from here is just amazing on the vines.
Hotel has a nice classical style with some touches of shabby and chic details.

Bride and groom and all guests stayed in the small hotel on the hills where all got ready for the day.

Being an ancient convent, the venue has a deconsecrated church in its property where you can plan your civil ceremony or symbolic blessing inside.
Alina and Ivan choose for a blessing conducted all in Russian. It was conducted by one of our lovely Russian speaking celebrant.

Alina arrived in the ancient church with her dad, flower girl and page boy.
Floral decorations where just as she wanted.
Deep pink roses and lilies and other wonderful purple floral details and light purple organza sashes.
Same theme was used for the centrepieces for the reception.

For her bouquet Alina wanted light pink peonies some light purple flowers and herbs.
She was very detailed in her style!

After the ceremony guests were invited for a wonderful Piemonte style aperitif while Alina and Ivan took the chance to have a little walk in the hotel surroundings for some great shots.

An intimate and fine dinner was served afterwards.
All dishes came from Piemonte culinary traditions and most of all all wines served were local such as Barbaresco and Dolcetto.
Same bottles of Dolcetto were given to each couple of guests as special wedding favour.

After the dinner a big cake to cut for our wonderful Russian couple and then dances until late at night!

A very sweet and intimate event for Ivan and Alina and their guests, they will remember for long time their Spring experience in Piemonte Langhe region.

A very special thanks to Independent Pictures for their great shots featured in our post and congratulations again to newly weds!!
