A Natural Country Wedding in a Romantic Restaurant in Monferrato
Happy Valentines Day to all our readers!
We are getting ready for an exciting season of country Weddings in Piemonte and we will also have other wedding featuring other country regions this year such as Umbria, Lombardy, Tuscany, Veneto and Apulia. Stay tuned for exciting posts.
This month we would love to tell you about a sweet Italian wedding: Enrica and Alessandro’s.
They got married in mid September last year.
Their planning had a wonderful natural flow. Enrica is so sweet and fresh that she could not have a different wedding!
Enrica and Alssandro live in Monferrato area and they chose this wonderful area of Piemonte Countryside for their wedding to be close to all their families and friends.
Enrica got ready at her home getting in her wonderful dress. An amazing but simple dress. She chose a total Made in Italy wedding dress, something light and comfortable too with an elegant detail: an organza and silk rose flower pinned to it.
To cover her shoulders for the Catholic ceremony she chose a laces “ring”, At her feet high heels shoes in satin. No veil… she wanted to be as natural as possible with just an hydrangea in her hair. So pretty!
Enrica and Alessandro chose a Catholic wedding in their home town parish church.
Parish priest is a couple’s dear friend and ceremony was friendly and very sweet.
For her country flower decorations Enrica chose white – bride’s color – and green. Green is her favorite color and to her is the color of life.
A country occitan style for sure.
Main theme Enrica chose for her wedding was horn of plenty (in Italian Cornucopia). It is an ancient symbol of fortune, plenty and love.
They were beautiful made with moss, white organza, white pearls and flowers…hydrangea in particular.
It matched perfectly Enrica’s bridal bouquet made only with hydrangeas and big leaves.
Petals on the nave and candles completed the frame.
Have a look to the cute ring cushion made with little green flowers and polka dots green and white mass booklet. Enrica hand wrote each of them… she is a teacher!
After the ceremony a toast with little aperitif to greet guests and not only! Many other village people were invited to kiss the bride! Wine served came from Casina Bricchetto of Portacomaro d’Asti. The owner of the wine cellar is Enrica and Alessandro’s dear friend too.
A Mustang car took bride and groom to the wedding reception venue they chose.
They picked up a traditional Monferrato restaurant in San Desiderio village close to Asti, not far from the church. Very handy for all guests. Restaurant name is Ai Santisè.
Restaurant was particularly dear to bride and groom as they celebrated here one of their romantic anniversary.
When you arrive at the restaurant it seems to step inside a secret garden. Here nature is real and spontaneous. Secular trees and ancient vases lead you to a little stone path with a stone wall on a side. View over Monferrato hills is amazing!
It is just a world apart.
While guests were tasting a Piemonte cuisine aperitif with Monferrato wines, cheeses, cold cuts and may other traditional finger food in restaurant secret garden, bride and groom took some time for some private wedding photos. Independent Pictures were the official photographers of the day… amazing country shots you see here come from their pure creativity.
For the wedding reception all guests moved inside charming and antique rooms of the restaurant.
On tables we could find horns of plenty again and a little chalk board as table name.
Table chart in wood and other details were all and written by Enrica… she has a beautiful handwriting doesn’t she?
On bridal table two occitan candelabras with crystal drops.
A great Piemonte style menu with a wonderful sugared almond bar to follow.
Sugared almonds are a must at any Italian wedding and having a bar could give the chance to all guests to taste different flavours.
Same sugared almonds were placed in plexiglass boxes, one each guest as wedding favour.
Another special surprise was planned for children an not only… a vintage ice cream cart! Marzia, one of the owners of the restaurant was the perfect ice cream girl!
Last but not least a delicious wedding cake. In spite of wedding traditions Enrica and Alessandro chose their favorite: a Sacher Tarte Wedding cake. Delicious!
Little green polka dots ribbon around them to complete the decoration and match mass booklets.
A great band entertained the guests for the evening and Photo Booth with props and disguisements made the evening a great fun for everybody.
A wonderful sweet country wedding over the hills of Monferrato part of Unesco heritage.
Huge congratulations to Enrica and Alessandro a big thanks to Independent Pictures Photography and to Ai Santisè restaurant for their friendship and care.
