A sparkling wedding on vineyards of Valpolicella
Could you find something more enchanting than getting married surrounded by natural and colourful beauty of Valpolicella?
As you probably know already Valpolicella is a wonderful country area close to Lake Garda, Venice and Verona in Veneto region. Land of wonderful vineyards where grapes to make amazing Italian Prosecco wine are produced. Landscape is magic and so relaxing. It could be a wonderful destination for your country wedding in Italy.
Alexandra and François – from London and Belgium respectively – chose Valpolicella wonderful scenery, rich heritage of traditions, for their Italian Wedding. They always dreamed about having a fun and exciting wedding yet intimate and relaxing. They wanted their families and all their friends to enjoy the fun emotions in a convivial and friendly mood.
Getting ready in an ancient Casale in Valpolicella countryside
What about waking up in the morning and get ready for your wedding while the sounds, the scent of freshly cut grass and the colours of Verona countryside surround you? This was the setting where Alexandra and Francois’s Big Day began.
Alexandra and her bridesmaids got ready in an ancient stone walled country house whose backyard had a fantastic view over Valpolicella hills.
A red flower hair wreath distinguished the bride from the bridesmaids whose wreaths were made in white and green shades. Such joyful and exciting atmosphere for the make-up and hair updo styling session!
The white lace backless gown was the ultimate touch which made Alexandra just radiant among her ladies in faint pink.
In the meantime, our groom reached the church on board of a very classy vintage car, a stunning MG A Roadster.
The church is just magnificent. It is located in the heart of the village. It is a Romanesque Pieve (Parish Church). Inside, precious frescoes adorn vaults and stand out against the fine traditional stonewalls. The church is settled on top of a hill and has a special view over Lake Garda that enchants.
A musical trio for flute, guitar and violin, combined with the lovely voice of a soprano, gave a very emotional mood to Roman Catholic ceremony. Amazing Grace Hymn opened the ceremony and all the guests sang together.
One of the most beautiful steps of the entire ceremony was the rite of the amphoras. Bride and groom pour wine contained in small amphoras into a bigger one. This ancient rite is a form of special blessing for the newlyweds as a moment of high spirituality.
A magnificent villa in Valpolicella countryside for a fun-filled wedding reception
Awesome wedding party was planned in a villa nestled in the heart of Valpolicella countryside. Villa owns a renowned wine cellar where most prestigious Italian wines can be tasted.
Villa has a very regular and symmetrical shape thanks to stunning Italian Garden in front of the main entrance. At the back of the villa there is a romantic English garden with its serpentine paths and isolated places among century-old trees dynamically placed. A little real wood where sounds of surrounding nature can be heard.
In the middle of English garden, an evocative small lake is the pearl of this enchanted venue.
Alexandra and François wanted the dinner party to be organised just in the midst of the wood, below little lights hanged to the trees and lamps irregularly distributed among the tables.
The atmosphere was absolutely enchanting! Just like a fairy tale! We simply loved it.
After wedding dinner, newlyweds opened wedding dances on the notes of one of the most famous Italian songs: Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu by Domenico Modugno (also known as Volare). Could you find something more Italian than this? At the beginning, the song was in its original version but after a while the rhythm gradually changed and the latin variant took over. A brilliant combination of Italian style and latin energy which invited everybody to dance together.
It really was an unforgettable fun-full night till 3a.m.!
A very special thanks Franco Milani for these fantastic pictures and videographer Andrea Fantoni who shot all the most exciting moments of the day.
